A pair of French 19th Century bronzes of Napoleon the third (1808 – 1873) the last of emperor of France (1852 – 1870) and his consort the empress Eugenie. The bronzes were most probably cast for the great exhibition of 1855 in Paris, and their oak pedestals renewed about 80 years later. Napoleon, Eugenie and their only son Eugene ended their days in England and are buried in a mausoleum at Farnborough in Hampshire. Circa 1855.
